About Baba

Baba Shettima Kukawa is an accomplished executive with over two decades of expertise in Nigeria’s downstream oil and gas sector, 18 of which have been dedicated to retail sales, marketing, and brand management. He currently serves as Executive Director, Retail Operations and Mobility at NNPC Retail Limited, where he manages a network of over 1,000 stations, driving innovation, revenue growth, and market expansion.

His strengths span sales, brand development, network optimization, Innovation, promotional campaigns, and stakeholder negotiations. Known for his ability to transform complex operations into growth engines, Baba combines strategic acumen with a commitment to excellence and innovation.

An alumnus of the University of Maiduguri, Lagos Business School, and Harvard Business School, he is a Fellow of the National Institute of Marketing Nigeria. He also holds board positions at NNPC Retail Ltd and NNPC Shipping Ltd and is widely respected as a mentor and thought leader in the energy sector.
