Q1 expands Bio-LNG service: Mutual card acceptance with Westfalen Group
Q1 Energie AG is further expanding its LNG offering and, through a cooperation with the Westfalen Group, is creating significant added value for fleet operators in long-distance and heavy-duty transport.
Effective immediately, the Q1 Card is accepted at the Westfalen Group’s four bio-LNG locations. In return, Westfalen Service Card customers can now refuel at Q1’s seven bio-LNG locations.
“With mutual card acceptance, we are simplifying access to bio-LNG as an alternative fuel in Germany. This represents a clear competitive advantage, especially for logistics and freight forwarding companies that are increasingly relying on this climate-friendly alternative,” emphasizes Marvin Kröcher, Coordinator of Sustainable Energy at Q1.
Bio-LNG is considered an environmentally friendly alternative to diesel in long-distance and heavy-duty transport: Fossil LNG alone can reduce CO2 emissions by around 20 percent, and bio-LNG can achieve up to 100 percent. Furthermore, it emits hardly any nitrogen oxides or particulate matter. This allows freight forwarders to reduce their carbon footprint while simultaneously meeting their customers’ increasing demands for more sustainable logistics.
