Avalon, a renowned company in providing technological solutions for services stations, has been at the forefront of innovation and has focused on opening new markets and establishing strategic alliances with partners in the fuel retail sector.
Ernesto Soriano, EMEA Sales Director shares his insights on the importance of technology in the retail fuel industry, as well as the strategies Avalon has implemented to forge successful partnerships and expand its market presence.
What has been Avalon’s previous experience at forecourttech, and what is the main objective of your participation this year?
Last year was our first forecourttech attendance, and no doubt it is an event you cannot miss. Here we are again! The objectives that we pursue attending forecourttech are multiple: Networking with current and potential customers; opening paths and bridges to build solid partnerships with oil companies as well as with other suppliers; and of course, acquiring a better understanding of our sector and an anticipated vision of our business environment.
How does Avalon envision the role of technology in transforming the fuel retail and service station sector in the coming years?
Service stations are becoming hubs of energy, convenience and services. The management of networks with that number of different businesses is becoming more and more complex. There is only one term that solves that complexity: technology.
What is Avalon’s unique value proposition in the technology sector for service stations?
Avalon is able to provide a real and unique comprehensive and end-to-end solution for service station networks. That includes not only the management and control of different energies: fuel, EV, hydrogen, gas, but also of different services and convenience: C-store, Cafeterias, Quick Service Restaurant, etc.
Our solution includes Front, Back and Head Office and allows you to manage all your network businesses in a single, modular, scalable and unique platform. Just one single interface for all your business!
International expansion through strategic partnership can be exciting yet challenging. How does Avalon select its partners abroad and what criteria are essential to ensure a successful collaboration in other countries?
We always look for solid and stable relationships, based on trust and honesty. Early on, we developed Avalon’s Partner’s Program, where we define a frame of transparency and opportunities for our partners. We look for companies which are already established in our new markets and which can find in our modular products a complementary solution to theirs.
What are the mutual benefits that Avalon seeks to obtain through these international alliances, both for your own company and for your partners in other countries?
Avalon is already present in more than eighteen countries which clearly proves our capability to adapt to new legal or technical requirements. Our partners can sell our solutions and help us in our ambitious international expansion plan, but what we love best is when they can also support our products on a local level. For those partners, a wide gate to business and recurrent stable revenues is opened.
What is Avalon’s flagship product that is considered most relevant for international markets, and what features make it stand out from the competition?
ARCADIA Suite. Arcadia is a cloud BOS/HOS solution that allows you to manage in real time all the businesses of your network. It is modular and scalable, very easy to implement and user friendly. It provides information of just one single site, a group of them or the complete network.
Arcadia can manage different sorts of networks (COCO, CODO, COFO, mixed). With Arcadia you can monitor and manage shifts, sales, wet-stock, inventories, purchasing, catalog, promotions, prices, invoicing, fleets, loyalty and much more.
In a competitive international market what features or advantages make Arcadia stand out and appeal to customers in different countries and regions?
Arcadia is a SaaS solution, allowing you an OPEX approach to your business. No investment is required. No hardware is needed.
Arcadia is a very flexible platform, it can work connected to Avalon’s Front Office Open POSNG, but also, using Arcadia Interfaces, it can be integrated bidirectionally to third party ERPs, other Front Offices and other platforms.
Arcadia is very easy to implement, easy to use and so many features and programs have been added along our journey that it will cover your current and future needs. Our IT Department takes special care to have Arcadia set to future challenges.
