Christian Warning is the founder and managing director of The Retail Marketeers. The Retail Marketeers, based in Hamburg, Germany, is an industry marketing and sales think tank with a proven track record of developing and delivering award winning convenience retail formats, forecourt marketing strategies and guiding market entry processes.
Christian is a permanent member of the NACS International Board of Directors and NACS Regional Representative EMEA. NACS, the leading global trade association dedicated to advancing convenience and fuel retailing, serves as a trusted advisor to over 1,500 retailer and 1,600 supplier members from more than 50 countries.
He is serving as the Director International of the most prestigious executive network of the German foodservice industry, the Institute of Culinary Arts. It is his mission to connecting thought leaders and to explore answers for the most important questions of the future of the food-to-go industry by tearing down walls by bringing the relevant people from the various sales channels together.
Christian worked for 13 years with Shell in different management functions, including heading Shell’s billion dollar non-fuels retail business in Germany in his early thirties. As a side step outside his oil core business he developed Germanys largest c-store franchise chain outside petrol filling stations as a senior manager of Deutsche Bahn/German rail for 5 years.
Christian has been a speaker at leading industry events throughout Europe and is hosting the yearly NACS CEO Summit D-A-CH in his hometown Hamburg, Germany. He attended the University of Hamburg where he majored in Business Administration.
